Make amazing sausage at home by adding Walton's High-Temp Cheese to your Snack Stick, Summer Sausage, or Bratwurst! This cheese is designed to hold its shape during the cooking process, meaning that it won't melt out of your product and will keep all the flavor where it belongs, in your sausage! Normal cheese will melt when you cook your meat and the cheese will leak out of the sausage and either drip down onto your smoker floor or get trapped between the casing and the meat, leaving you with an unappetizing look and mouth feel. Add between 8-10% of your products total weight in cheese for best results.
High-Temp Cheddar Cheese has a fairly strong cheddar flavor and zero heat. This cheese works great with almost any sausage but especially anything that has some sweetness and some heat, like the Habanero BBQ Summer Sausage or Snack Stick Seasoning.
It may incur a $5 to $10 shipping upcharge to cover the costs of coolers and ice packs for shipping in warmer months (1 lb packages incur a $5 upcharge while 5 lb packages incur a $10 upcharge). If you get your cheese and it is not cold, that is still fine as the cheese is shelf-stable and will not go bad if it is not refrigerated for short periods of time. Shelf-life is best when kept in the fridge or freezer though.
